TF structure. The 46-kDa membrane-bound single polypeptide chain consists of extracellular, transmembrane, and cytoplasmic domains. There are 2 intrachain disulfide bridges (Cys49-Cys57 and Cys186-Cys209, shown in blue) in the extracellular domain where it also contains FVII/FVIIa binding domain (see text) initiating signaling cascade for the extrinsic blood coagulation (Figure 2, left panel).
