Antimicrobial Activity of Xoconostle Pears (Opuntia matudae) against Escherichia coli O157:H7 in Laboratory Medium

Inhibitory zones in BHI agar inoculated with mixture of E. coli O157:H7 strains that formed around the wells due to the present of xoconostle extract at different concentrations (v/v) after 12 h of incubation at 37°C. Concentrations are in μL adjusted to 1 mL by distilled water and inhibitory zone = diameter of the zone −8 mm (diameter of the well). Data represent the average of three replicates with standard error.
