Infrared absorption spectra: (a) commercial chitosan (Sigma Aldrich Corp., St. Louis, MO, USA); (b) chitosan obtained by Method 1 [17]; (c) chitosan obtained by Method 2 [18]. The peaks in chitosan were indicated as 1 = (∼1650 cm⁻¹) acetylated residues (NHCOCH₃); 2 = (∼1590 cm⁻¹) NH₂ groups present in the deacetylate residues; and 3 = (3440 cm⁻¹) the vibration of the OH molecule.
