Inequalities for Special Functions

Call for Papers

Special functions, because of their remarkable properties, have been used for centuries. Inequalities, bounds, and approximations for special functions, like the error function, gamma and beta functions, Riemann zeta function, elliptic integrals, hypergeometric functions, Bessel functions, and q-series have been proved to be useful in applied mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering sciences. Motivated by many applications on inequalities for special functions and for the zeros of special functions, the main aim of this special issue is to invite authors to submit their original research articles and expository articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts in inequalities for special functions. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Approximations and bounds for special functions
  • Higher-order monotonicity properties of special functions
  • Inequalities for zeros of special functions
  • Applications of inequalities for special functions
  • Geometric properties of special functions

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijmms/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
