Selected Papers from TimeNav 2007
Call for Papers
In April 2007, three important international meetings devoted to time, frequency, and navigation have been held together in Geneva under a common umbrella, aiming to promote the interchange of these communities. With the development of the Galileo system, particular attention has arisen in Europe on research and advanced activities related to satellite navigation and its applications. Time and frequency references are the heart of navigation systems; they yield the “ticking” that synchronize all the network allowing positioning and correct-time dissemination. The TimeNav event is therefore well in agreement with the IJNO aims of promoting and diffusing the culture of navigation among universities, research institutions, and industries.
This proposed IJNO special issue focuses upon all the research themes related to the timing aspects of navigation systems and has stemmed out of the TimeNav events where the Guest Editors (GEs) have attended the different sessions. The GEs have been also part of the Scientific Committees of the TimeNav congresses, and therefore they have been directly involved in the evaluation of the submitted papers. The authors of the most promising papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their papers to the journal.
Topics of interest include:
- Timing aspects of GNSS
- Space clocks
- Ground clocks
- Synchronization systems
- Orbit determination and time synchronization algorithms and systems
- Reference time scales
- Clock modeling and prediction
- Integrity concepts
- On-board clock measurement systems
- Dissemination of universal coordinated time
- GNSS timing receivers
- Demonstrations, experiments, and systems evaluations
- GNSS timing applications
Submission to this special issue limited to the participants of the TimeNav 2007 conference who have been invited to submit to this issue. Authors should follow the International Journal of Navigation and Observation manuscript format described at the journal site http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijno/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/, according to the following timetable:
| Manuscript Due | August 1, 2007 |
| First Round of Reviews | November 1, 2007 |
| Publication Date | February 1, 2008 |
