Interference of Light in a Michelson-Morley Interferometer: A Quantum Optical Approach

The normalized single-photon intensity ⟨𝐼⟩(𝜏)/⟨𝐼⟩(0) as a function of the dimensionless time-delay 𝜏𝜎 for the case of single-photon states in the signal and the LO ports with the same spectral width 𝜎 but with different mean frequencies. Two different examples are plotted with 𝜔_𝑠=3𝜎: 𝜔_𝑙𝑜=3.15𝜎 with (solid line) or 𝜔_𝑙𝑜=2.85𝜎 (dashed line). The asymptotic values of ⟨𝐼⟩(𝜏)/⟨𝐼⟩(0) can be obtained from the expression (22) in the main text, that is, (1+𝜔_𝑙𝑜/𝜔_𝑠)/2.
