The Critical Adiabatic Linear Tapered Waveguide Combined with a Multimode Waveguide Coupler on an SOI Chip

<div>The effective refractive index of the distributed state of eight TE modes with the width of a linear tapered waveguide is ranging from 0.4 <i>μ</i>m to 4.5 <i>μ</i>m. The effective refractive index <i>n</i><sub>eff</sub> of the slab waveguide on an SOI chip is 2.509 and the thickness of this linear tapered waveguide h<sub>co</sub> is 220 nm at an operating wavelength of 1550 nm.</div>
