Mucin Production and Mucous Cell Metaplasia in Otitis Media

<table>Mucous cell metaplasia/hyperplasia is identified with AB-PAS stain in a piece of middle ear mucosa (from a chronic OM patient) which contains abundant mucous cells (arrows, deep blue areas) and accumulated mucin glycoproteins in the central area of the gland-like structures.
