Influence of Irradiance, Flow Rate, Reactor Geometry, and Photopromoter Concentration in Mineralization Kinetics of Methane in Air and in Aqueous Solutions by Photocatalytic Membranes Immobilizing Titanium Dioxide

Figure 7

Quantum efficiencies O 2 / H 2 O 2 (mol/Einstein) of methane, extrapolated by (17), at infinite concentration of substrate, relative to measurements carried out in the gaseous phase, as a function of absorbed power per unit length of irradiated photocatalytic membrane, expressed as W 𝛷 cm−1. Photocatalytic membranes used in the relative experiments contained the photopromoter (see Experimental) at a concentration corresponding to 3.0 mol/mol % of vanadium with respect to titanium present as main photocatalyst.
