Matching of Silicon Thin-Film Tandem Solar Cells for Maximum Power Output

The measured external quantum efficiency of the reference cell and the illumination spectra are used to calculate the short-circuit current densities and of the subcells. Additionally, the current densities for the AM1.5g standard spectrum (red star) and for the sun simulator spectrum (violet diamond) are given along with the value for the attenuated sun simulator spectrum (orange diamond). The stepwise changed LED illumination (measurements number 1 to 21) leads to, respectively, increased top and decreased bottom cell current densities (black squares).
