Supplementary Movie 1: Scan from a term newborn with moderate infection: heterogeneity dominates the image: no flow, sluggish flow, intermittent flow and continuous flow vessels are seen. Clinical information: Leucocytes = 28.8 G/l, Hematocrit = 50%, CRP = 0.72 mg/dl (next day increased up to 2.89 mg/dl). Recapillarisation time 3 seconds.
