It is our great pleasure to announce the first event of the international conference on Power Control and Optimization (PCO-08) organized by Department of Electrical Engineering, Chiang Mai University, Thailand and Curtin University of Technology, Malaysia. The vision of PCO-08 is to bring today’s highly inspiring and precision innovative research and resource development for tomorrow's industry in power and control. It has the mission to highlight innovative research and development of academics and industrial experts in the area of power control and its optimization techniques, and to provide a forum to disseminate the results to all industrial sectors in power quality, automation, business, finance, economics, and management. Also, it has the mission to bring all necessary information of the most recent and relevant innovations in regard to the theories and practices in industrial engineering and management, where constructive dialogues on theoretical concepts, practical ideas, and results of the state of the art will be developed.
