Peptide–Polymer Conjugates: A Promising Therapeutic Solution for Drug-Resistant Bacteria

Figure 4

Engineering dual missions in one peptide-mimetic alternating copolymer (PMAC) vesicle for bone repairing: antibacterial and delivery of growth factor. The positively charged PMAC vesicles can attack negatively charged bacteria, impale and penetrate bacteria membrane, and finally kill bacteria. In the meanwhile, the encapsulated growth factors can be released from vesicles for facilitating bone regeneration. The growth factors can be also released in the healthy bone defects due to the degradation of vesicles. Reprinted with permission from ref [87]. Copyright 2017 American Chemical Society.
