Civil Engineering Applications of Polymer Composites

Description

Polymers provide huge opportunities for the advancement of materials research, the improvement of material property, and the strengthening structures damaged, recycling wastes. This special issue is intended to present and discuss breakthrough technological developments which are expected to revolutionize applications in civil engineering.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Polymer modified paste, mortar, and concrete
  • Recycling wastes in cement concrete and polymer concrete
  • Durability of concrete
  • Mineral admixtures and chemical in concrete technology
  • Time dependent behavior of concrete
  • Restoration applications of polymers
  • Light weight polymer composite systems
  • Fiber reinforced polymer composites
  • Special concretes
  • Rehabilitaion, restoration, and strengthening of structures
  • Applications of soft computing techniques and tools (i.e., fuzzy logic, neural networks, evolutionary computing, rough sets, and other similar techniques) into prediction of properties of composites
