Polymer-Metal Nanocomposites for Biomedical Applications
Call for Papers
Day by day, technology continuously generates new materials with combined special features. One among those efforts led to coin a polymer-metal nanocomposite, which is one of the most popular areas for current research and development. Polymer-metal nanocomposites are simply defined as nanoparticulates incorporated in polymer matrix, which results improved performance compared to their starting materials. These properties not only depend on the parent materials composition but also depend on the processing method, storage, morphology, and interfacial characteristics. Polymer-metal nanocomposites have been efficiently implemented in food, cosmetic, electronics, agriculture, horticulture, medicine, and so forth. However, polymer-metal nanoparticle composite materials have got a wide range of applications in biomedical fields. Inherent superior characteristics of polymer-metal nanocomposites may intend to serve human being.
This special issue aims to provide basic understanding of polymer-metal nanocomposite research with emphasis on how these materials create wide spectrum of biomedical applications. The topics of this special issue include, but are not limited to:
- Different approaches to the synthesis of polymer-metal nanocomposites
- The physical and chemical properties of polymer-metal nanocomposites
- Novel preparation approaches for polymer-metal nanocomposites
- Hydrogel, microgel, and nanogel polymer network metal nanocomposites
- Stimuli responsive polymer and gel network metal nanocomposites
- Magnetic, catalytic, optoelectronic, sensing, actuator, and imaging properties of polymer-metal nanocomposites
- Biological and medical applications of polymer-metal nanocomposites
