Figure 3: The DWT decomposition showing the various approximation and detail signals at eight levels. The original vibration signal is decomposed into a low-frequency component ( 𝐴 1 ) and a high-frequency component ( 𝐷 1 ). Each successive approximation is then decomposed into an approximation and a detail component, for example, 𝐴 1 = 𝐴 2 + 𝐷 2 , 𝐴 2 = 𝐴 3 + 𝐷 3 , and so on.
