On Applicability of a Miniaturised Laser Ablation Time of Flight Mass Spectrometer for Trace Elements Measurements

The correlation plot between the elemental abundances of elements quoted by NIST and values determined from the measurements. The measurements underestimate the abundances of non-metallic elements and elements with high IP’s. The abundances of elements possessing low boiling temperatures are, however, clearly overestimated. The measurement of Ni, Co, or Cu abundances suffers from the detector saturation effects caused by saturation detection of ⁵⁴Fe.
