Colocalization of EGFP positive cells with astrocyte marker at day 5 post-infection. Mice were infected intracranially with , and RSMHV . Infected mice were sacrificed at day 5 post-infection; brains were processed, sectioned and then immune labeled with anti GFAP (astrocytic marker) antiserum, then stained with Texas red goat anti-mouse IgG as secondary antibodies. EGFP fluorescence was used to detect viral antigen positive cells; red fluorescence was used to detect GFAP in astrocytes. Merged images show colocalization of GFAP and EGFP positive cells.
