The 2008 ECSIS Symposium on Bio-inspired, Learning, and Intelligent Systems for Security(BLISS-2008) 4-6 August 2008, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK This symposium is of interest to developers and users of reliable, versatile, and intelligent systems needed by a broad range of security applications. Examples of such applications are the detection and prevention of cyber-crimes and identity theft, internet security, security of financial systems, security of public transportation systems, emergency response systems (e.g., combining space-based systems with geographical information systems), and so forth. The symposium will bring together investigators of bio-inspired and intelligent techniques and their implementations on high-performance systems with real-world application developers, project managers, system integrators, and end-users of security applications.
The 16th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO-2008) 25-29 August 2008, Lausanne, Switzerland The 2008 European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO-2008) is the sixteenth in a series of conferences promoted by EURASIP, the European Association for Signal Processing (www.eurasip.org). Being formerly biannual, this conference is now a yearly event. This edition will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland, organized by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL). EUSIPCO-2008 will focus on the key aspects of signal processing theory and applications. Exploration of new avenues and methodologies of signal processing will also be encouraged. Areas of interest include audio and electroacoustics, design and implementation of signal processing systems, image and multidimensional signal processing, multimedia signal processing, signal detection and estimation, sensor array and multichannel processing, signal processing for communications, speech processing, education in signal processing, nonlinear signal processing, medical imaging and image analysis, signal processing applications (biology, geophysics, seismic, radar, sonar, remote sensing, astronomy, bio-informatics, positioning, etc.), and emerging technologies.
