Effects of Danshen on IL-1β production in liver and spleen. The homogenates of liver and spleen were tested for IL-1β production by ELISA. Results for 0% Danshen ( of 7 separate experiments), 0.5% Danshen ( of 4 separate experiments), 1% Danshen ( of 6 separate experiments), and 2% Danshen ( of 5 separate experiments) are shown as mean ± SD; *(for liver) and **(for spleen) indicate statistically significant difference compared to the 0% Danshen group.
