Immunotherapy with Tolerogenic Dendritic Cells Alone or in Combination with Rapamycin Does Not Reverse Diabetes in NOD Mice

Immunotherapy—alone or in combination with immunosuppressant—does not reverse T1D in NOD mice. Glucose levels in diabetic mice from different groups. No significant differences were observed when treated groups were compared to the sham group. Significant differences were found when the NITApo-DCs group was compared with mice treated with rapamycin (Rapa) and with mice treated with tolerogenic DCs and rapamycin (Rapa + NITApo-DCs).
