Model-predicted versus PALS-observed L band brightness average temperatures. The prediction is better at high soil moisture conditions (lower average brightness temperature) when contribution of vegetation and roughness is not as significant as that of soil moisture. Model calibrated using PALS and in situ data for July 7 and July 8 [41].
