Same as Figure 2 but also showing infestations from 2002 in red shading and lines depicting the systematic sampling technique used in the analysis. Each line extends from a raster midpoint in a parent infestation to a similar raster midpoint in an associated child infestation in the subsequent year. The technique is systematic, sampling all possible combinations of raster midpoints in parent infestations and child infestations in the subsequent year.
