Software Engineering and Statistical Software Quality Assurance

Call for Papers

Software engineering is usually defined as the application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the design, development, operation, and maintenance of software. We use many different models to depict the activities of software development. Software development activities have to be completed on time, within their budgets, and with high quality and reliability.

On the other hand, software quality assurance is a planned and systematic pattern of actions necessary to provide adequate confidence that developed software conforms to users’ requirements during software development. These actions consist of models, techniques, and tools that will assess the quality of the various processes, methods, and tools used in software development project. Statistical software quality assurance further uses statistical methods to analyze the quality of software. This is typically based on collected project data and use of different models to develop some approaches to optimize the investment in various software quality assurance actions. This special issue serves as a platform for researchers and practitioners to present advances in the field. We invite authors to submit original research articles that propose more effective and flexible modeling approaches for software development, measurement, and quality assurance. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Mathematical modeling and numerical simulation for software engineering
  • Service-oriented modeling and architecture
  • Model-based software testing and testability analysis
  • Software engineering for cloud and mobile computing
  • Statistical software quality assurance modeling
  • Statistical software quality assurance practices
  • Reliability and quality modeling

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jam/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/jam/soften/ according to the following timetable:
