Effect of Hg(II) ions on the PL spectra of CdTe QDs ((a) 𝜆_em=502 nm, (b) 𝜆_em=670 nm) with the concentration of Hg²⁺ at 0.0, 0.4, 1.2, 2, 3, 7, 11, 15, 19, 27, and 35 × 10⁻⁷ M (from 1 to 11). The inset depicts the emergence of an NIR emission band on the addition of Hg(II) ions.
