Aptamers for Analytical Methods Development
Call for Papers
Aptamers, originating from large random-sequence nucleic acid libraries via an in vitro evolution process called SELEX (systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment), are a special class of nucleic acids that can specifically bind, with the dissociation constants ranging from nanomolar to picomolar level, to metal ions, small molecules, proteins, and even entire cells. In these important regards, aptamers can rival antibodies, the traditional recognition molecules, owing to a number of unique and advantageous features of aptamers for various analytical methods development.
We cordially invite the investigators in the field to contribute their original research articles or review articles which explore aspects of concepts, properties, and perspectives of aptamer-based analytical methods development. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Advances in aptamer selection
- Aptamer-based affinity chromatography
- Biosensing applications of aptamers
- Aptamer-based bioimaging
- Aptamers as discovery tools
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jamc/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/jamc/adev/ according to the following timetable:
| Manuscript Due | Friday, 6 September 2013 |
| First Round of Reviews | Friday, 29 November 2013 |
| Publication Date | Friday, 24 January 2014 |
