Electronic-Rotational Coupling in Cl–para-H₂ Van der Waals Dimers

All of the Cl-H₂ dimer’s Ω=5/2 and Ω=7/2 coupled electronic-rotational states that correlate with the lower spin-orbit level of the Cl atom are shown as functions of the Cl-H₂ distance 𝑅. The horizontal dashed line indicates the dimer’s asymptotic energy, as 𝑅→∞, for the lower spin-orbit level of the Cl atom and the 𝑗=0 state of H₂.
