Figure 14

The Carson site location enclosed by yellow box—note surrounding ridge and swale soil delineations—the site itself is built along a linear ridge of younger soils. The light green soils are fine-loamy and fine-silty, mixed alfisols. The brown soils are very-fine, smectitic vertisols, and the orange soils range from coarse-loamy, mixed inceptisols to very-fine, smectitic inceptisols (USDA NRCS Soil Series; http://www.arcgis.com/).
