Figure 8: Recovery of the boundary of the star specified by 100 points with Gaussian noise of 𝜈 = 1 6 . In this case, an extremely large amount of noise is added, however the algorithm is effective at recovering features of the star shape. The boundary is constructed using approximate interpolation by using 𝜎 𝐴 = 1 × 1 0 − 6 and 𝜎 𝐵 = 4 × 1 0 − 4 . The recovered surface is shown as a thicker line.
