Multiple-Locus Variable-Number Tandem Repeat Analysis of Vibrio cholerae in Comparison with Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis and Virulotyping

Dendrogram generated using PFGE profiles showing the relatedness of 43 Malaysian V. cholerae with virulotypes and MLVA profiles. The dendrogram is based on the unweighted pair group method with arithmetic averages (UPGMA) using the position tolerance of 0.15. Five clusters were observed at the similarity of 80% with all O1 strains clustered in Cluster I.
