Alternative Fuel Application in Internal Combustion Engine

Call for Papers

In the recent years, the increasing fossil-based energy crisis and environmental concerns have greatly promoted the research in the application alternative fuels in internal combustion engines. Benefiting from previous research, some alternative fuels are practically used or commercially available in internal combustion engines such as biodiesel, ethanol, and natural gas. However, the mechanism of the application of alternative fuels in IC engines still needs to be clarified for the further improvement of the alternative-fuelled engines. Since the alternative fuels have different physical and chemical properties, the new technologies and theories which were originally developed in the traditional engines have to be further studied in alternative-fuelled engines as well.

This special issue aims to collect and publish the newest technical and academic achievements related to alternative-fuelled engines. The original research articles in the alternative fuel application area are invited. The review articles which offer the timely and expert overview in a specific area are also welcome. Potential topics include, but not limited to:

  • Combustion and pollutant formation mechanism
  • Development and validation of numerical models
  • Optical/laser diagnostic
  • After-treatment systems

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jc/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
