In the absence of PDGF-BB, both aptamer and DNA probes are folded [47]. In this state, fluorescent AgNCs cannot be formed. However, in the presence of PDGF-BB, the nucleation sequence is released and AgNCs can be formed. By monitoring the increase in fluorescence intensity, the protein was detected with high sensitivity.
