FTIR spectra of PVM-44 (c) coordinated by Cu2+ (a) or Zn2+ (b) [47]. As a result of complexation, some FTIR bands of the imidazole (marked blue) are shifted, in particular the in-plane skeletal vibrations of the imidazole ring. However, the carbonyl stretch of the MMA methylester (marked red) remains unaltered.
