Molecular structure, names, and abbreviations of polymers used for azole coordination and low molecular weight imidazole containing substances and five-membered nitrogen heterocyclic biocides investigated in this review. Potential nitrogen coordinating borderline ligands (imidazole, triazole) or hard ligands (amines), oxygen coordinating hard ligands, and sulphur coordinating soft ligands are marked with blue, purple, red, and yellow, respectively. Weak ligands such as organic halides have not been marked.
