Description
Porous materials have attracted attention over the last two decades due to their technological applications in many fields. They are generally used as molecular sieves, catalysts, adsorbents, and biomaterials, owing to their ordered arrangement and multiscale pore size distribution.
Porous materials have currently a great impact on numerous future developments including nanotechnology. We invite researchers from all over the world to contribute to this special issue with original research articles or review articles related to the various aspects of the synthesis, processing, characterization, and property evaluation of all kinds of porous materials.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Introduction to multiscale porous materials
- Synthesis, processing, and characterization of new nanostructured or hierarchical materials
- Hydrothermal, solvothermal, and sol-gel syntheses: precursors, intermediates, and reaction mechanism
- Novel clays like materials in the fields of catalysis
- Application of porous materials in catalysis, separation technology, environmental protection, electrochemistry, membranes, sensors, optical devices, and so forth.
- Applications toward hydrogen production and storage
