Adaptive Control Theory and Applications
Description
Adaptive control has been an important area of active research for over several decades. Significant development has been made in both theoretical and practical application, such as the proof of global stability and the improvement of system tracking and transient performance. One of the reasons for the rapid growth of adaptive control is the practical need to control uncertain systems. With the recent development of unmanned systems and other complex nonlinear systems, accurate modeling information is more and more unrealistic. Robust adaptive controllers that can effectively handle all kinds of model uncertainties and environmental disturbances attract much interest. Recent development of adaptive control aims to (1) control broader systems with complex uncertainties and (2) improve and characterize control performance.
Papers are sought that develop new theories, generate new algorithms, derive new analysis techniques or design tools, or modify existing techniques for general application to control problems. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Robust adaptive control of uncertain systems
- Control of systems with nonlinear uncertainties
- Control of systems with time-varying uncertainties
- Performance characterization and verification in nonlinear control systems
- Adaptive navigation and control
- Autonomous unmanned systems
- Parameter estimation in nonlinear systems
- Fault tolerant control
- Reconfigurable control
