Diabetic Nephropathy Induced by Increased Ace Gene Dosage Is Associated with High Renal Levels of Angiotensin (1–7) and Bradykinin

Renin activity in renal tissue of CT (white column) and D (black column) mice having 1 or 3 copies of the Ace gene at the end of twelve weeks of experimental period. Renin activity was obtained by incubating renal tissue samples with excess renin substrate for 1 h at 37°C. Results were determined from the amount of Ang I generated in the absence of trypsin by HPLC. Values represent mean ± S.E.M., . Two-way ANOVA showed : diabetic versus control and : 3 copies control group versus 1 copy control group.
