Mayo Clinic basis for a GDM diagnosis is as follows: requires 3 consecutive glucose level tests. If 2 of 3 tests are greater than normal, the woman is diagnosed with GDM. Glucose level of less than 180 mg/dL is considered normal. Glucose level of less than 155 mg/dL is considered normal. Glucose level of less than 140 mg/dL is considered normal. Glucose level tested to insure normal glucose levels returned post-GDM.
