Trends in Pattern Recognition and Tracking

Call for Papers

Pattern recognition deals with the detection and identification of a desired pattern or target in an unknown input scene which may or may not contain the target and the determination of the spatial location of any target which is present. Over the last decade, tremendous advances have been made in the general area of pattern recognition techniques, devices, and algorithms. This special issue will encompass the latest trends and advancements in the areas of pattern recognition and tracking in visual, infrared, multispectral, hyperspectral, and terahertz imagery.

The special issue is expected to become an international forum for researchers to summarize the most recent advances in the field. Papers that address novel architectures, algorithms, implementations, and applications will be considered, which may involve theoretical, simulation, or experimental results. Review papers may also be considered. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Target detection and tracking in visual/infrared/hyperspectral imagery
  • IED detection using hyperspectral and/or multispectral imaging
  • Concealed object detection via THz imagery for security applications
  • Fingerprint identification
  • Invariant face recognition
  • Iris recognition
  • Enhanced target detection/tracking via data/decision fusion

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jece/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/jece/signal.processing/tprt/ according to the following timetable:
