Environmental Pollution: Health Effects and Operational Implications for Pollutants Removal
Description
Environmental pollution is reaching worrying proportions worldwide. Urbanization and industrialization along with economic development have led to increase in energy consumption and waste discharges. The global environmental pollution, including greenhouse gas emissions and acid deposition, is considered as international public health problem, which should be investigated from multiple perspectives including social, economic, legislation, and environmental engineering systems, as well as lifestyle habits helping health promotion and strengthening environmental systems to resist contamination.
This special issue is dedicated to increasing the depth of research across all areas of health effects of pollutants in air, water, and soil environments, as well as new techniques for their measurement and removal. Findings from reexamination and interpretation of existing data are also included. The special issue is open to both original research articles as well as review articles. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Health effects of air, water, and soil pollution
- Creating health-supportive environments
- Environmental pollution and chronic noncommunicable diseases
- Children's environmental health and primordial prevention of noncommunicable diseases
- Environmental engineering approach for control and removal of pollutants
- International frameworks on global environmental problems
- Lifestyle habits reducing environmental threats
- Public education and knowledge translation of environmental science
