Lactococcus lactis NCC 2287 Alleviates Food Allergic Manifestations in Sensitized Mice by Reducing IL-13 Expression Specifically in the Ileum
Figure 4
L. lactis NCC 2287 downregulates IL-13 expression in the ileum but not in the jejunum of sensitized mice. Relative gene expression of IL-5 (a) and IL-13 (b) in samples from ileum and jejunum analyzed by low-density arrays. Sensitization followed by challenge led to upregulation of IL-5 () and IL-13 () mRNA in the positive control group compared to the negative control in the ileum. Administration of NCC 2287 in the management phase led to a marked downregulation of IL-13 expression in the ileum () but not in the jejunum.
