Vaccination with Enzymatically Cleaved GPI-Anchored Proteins from Schistosoma mansoni Induces Protection against Challenge Infection

Cytokine profile of mice immunized with GPI-Proteins. Control group was immunized with PBS plus Freund adjuvant (CFA/IFA). One week after the last immunization, splenocytes from five mice were isolated and assayed for, IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL10 and IL5 production in response to GPI proteins (12.5 μg/mL + CFA/IFA), or PBS + CFA/IFA as control. The results are presented as mean ± S.D. for each group. A statistically significant difference of GPI vaccinated mice compared to control group is denoted by an asterisk for . Concanavalin A (ConA) and LPS were used as positive controls. Results are representative of two independent biological experiments.
