Osteodifferentiated Mesenchymal Stem Cells from Bone Marrow and Adipose Tissue Express HLA-G and Display Immunomodulatory Properties in HLA-Mismatched Settings: Implications in Bone Repair Therapy

PBMC from healthy individuals were used as responder cells towards AT-derived MSCs pretreated with IFN-γ and TNF-α (MSC-AT IFN-γ/TNF-α) or not (MSC-AT) as stimulating cells at various responder : stimulator (R : S) ratios. Similar experiments were performed with AT-derived MSCs committed to osteodifferentiation process and pretreated with IFN-γ and TNF-α (Os-MSC-AT IFN-γ/TNF-α) or not (Os-MSC-AT) as stimulating cells.
bData are mean ± s.e.m. of alloproliferation percentage obtained with 4 and 3 distinct healthy donors for MSC-AT and Os-MSC-AT experiments, respectively. This percentage is calculated considering PBMC stimulated with LCL* as 100% alloproliferation.
