Polyclonal Recipient nTregs Are Superior to Donor or Third-Party Tregs in the Induction of Transplantation Tolerance

Recipient but not donor and third-party Treg treatment induces donor-specific tolerance. Donor-specific tolerance was assessed by grafting of donor and third-party skin 4–6 weeks after BMT. Donor skin graft survival was significantly prolonged in BMT recipients treated with recipient Tregs (■ recipient Tregs, ; ◆ donor Tregs, ; ∆ third-party Tregs, ; no Tregs, ). Survival was calculated according to the Kaplan-Meier product limit method and compared between groups using the log-rank test ( for recipient Tregs versus all other groups).
