In four independent experiments, different in vitro stimulatory conditions were tested on freshly isolated human B cells; the strength of their effect on proliferation, Ig and cytokine production, and expression of cell surface markers is represented in the table (+++ = strong effect, ++ = moderate effect, + = weak effect, and NA = not analysed).
