ITO/Poly(Aniline)/Sol-Gel Glass: An Optically Transparent, pH-Responsive Substrate for Supported Lipid Bilayers

Potential measured during step changes in the pH of the buffer in contact with an ITO/PANI/sol-gel sensor. After equilibration at pH 4, the pH was incrementally increased to pH 9, followed by cycles of increase and decrease. The numbers above each “plateau” during the initial increase denote the pH. The sensor was equilibrated for 5 minutes before the pH was changed.
