Thermal Conductivity in Nanoporous Gold Films during Electron-Phonon Nonequilibrium

Figure 6

Change in electron temperature after short-pulsed laser heating in the event of electron-phonon nonequilibrium. Using the expression for kp and a porosity of %, the sensitivity of electron cooling to ligament thickness and subsequent thermal conductivity is observed. It is apparent that electron-cooling is not extremely sensitive to the thermal conductivity reduction experienced during electron-phonon coupling.
