Dependence of the thermal boundary resistance $R_K$ extracted from the decay of the surface temperature obtained from the numerical integration of (1) on (a) the spatial discretization $\mathrm{?}z$ and (b) temporal discretization $\mathrm{?}t$. The temporal discretization in (a) is $\mathrm{?}t=0.01$ femtosecond. As evident from the figure, the extracted $R_K$ linearly depends on the spatial discretization $\mathrm{?}z$ and reaches the input value only for $\mathrm{?}z?0$. In (b), the numerical integration is performed with a spatial step-width of $\mathrm{?}z=2$?nm. The numerical integration uses the literature values fromTable 1 and $R_K=9.76\times {10}^{-8}$?(K?m²)/W. The Bi-film-thickness is 10?nm.
