Dependence of the thermal boundary resistance RK extracted from the decay of the surface temperature obtained from the numerical integration of (1) on (a) the spatial discretization ?z and (b) temporal discretization ?t. The temporal discretization in (a) is ?t=0.01 femtosecond. As evident from the figure, the extracted RK linearly depends on the spatial discretization ?z and reaches the input value only for ?z?0. In (b), the numerical integration is performed with a spatial step-width of ?z=2?nm. The numerical integration uses the literature values fromTable 1 and RK=9.76×10-8?(K?m2)/W. The Bi-film-thickness is 10?nm.
