Effect of MWCNT on MMP-9 expression. BEAS-2B cells were exposed to 0.02–0.2 μg/cm2 of SD-MWCNT for 48 h and the levels of both cellular and secreted MMP-9 were detected. (a) MMP-9 (92 kD) was measured by Western blotting and compared with no treatment (0) and Survanta only controls (Surv). MMP-9 expression levels were quantified by gel densitometry.
