Tapping-mode AFM image obtained from a film of core-shell nanoparticles that has been obtained from solvent evaporation on a drop-casted spread on a freshly cleaved muscovite mica disc. Heights are coded in shades according to the reported colour bar. The 2D Fourier transform of the central portion of the image (in the inset) shows the six intensity peaks denoting periodicity and hexagonal compact structure of the film with a periodicity of approximately 300 nm (correspondent to the measured average interparticle distance) [33].
